Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-20-06  Autoreparaturwerkbau: Some 'Cox', who has only 2 games in database beat Karpov like a box-bag in 34 moves - by black? Whaaaat?
Jan-20-06  Autoreparaturwerkbau: Ok, now you consolidated 5 players named 'Cox'. Makes little more sense now.
Jan-21-06  GBKnight: This game was played in a simul. I believe Karpov took on something like 10 of the most promising British juniors at the time, and this was his only loss.
Jul-09-08  whiteshark: It was a simultan against 25 young British players. Karpov's oppenents had an average of ELO 2,240. After 6.5 hours Karpov's score has been +11 -4, =10.

Cox was 19 at that time with an ELO of 2,285.

Black played extremely well in a sharp game.
