Jan-30-05  Saruman: 17.Nd5! exd5? 18.exd5 Nf6 19.dxc6 . Or 19.-Qxc6 20.Rxe7.
Jan-31-05  Cyphelium: <Saruman> On 17. ♘d5 exd5 18. exd5 ♘f6, 19. dxc6 is good, but 19. ♗xf6 is completely devastating. 18.- h6 or 18.- g6 could be considered instead, but I guess white is just cruising. 18.- h6 19. ♕f5!? g6 20. ♕h3 with ♕xh6 or f4-f5 etc. coming looks strong. On 18.- g6 I would be really tempted to play 19. ♖e3 - hoping for 19.- ♗xd5 20. ♕xh7+. =) There are probably other ways too.
Feb-02-05  Saruman: Thanks <Cyphelium> I realized it later!
Oct-18-16  zydeco: Other Soviet players really hated Krogius, who better at the political game than he was at chess and, later on, became a tyrannical ruler of the chess federation. But he was no scrub, as he demonstrates here. It's a really wild position around move 24, and it must have taken nerves and precise calculation to manage black's defences.
Jan-01-17  Zenchess: I thought White had missed a win somewhere; sure enough, 18. e5!!, a simple discovery, wins.

Jan-01-17  Zenchess: 19. Qxh7 f5 (forced) 20. Bxf5 exf5 21. e6 is mate in four.
Apr-28-17  zydeco: <Zenchess> 18.e5 g6. What's the winning follow-up?
