Jan-31-05  Hidden Skillz: i love it how keres picks up the two rooks 1 by 1..still the best move was missed by keres that forces mate..27.Qd5!!
Oct-14-07  nolanryan: 27 Qd5 is a nice move.

Otherwise, a beautiful game by Keres

May-28-16  hemy: The game Keres-Schapiro was published in many sources. M.Shapiro may be a wrong name of Schapiro.

According to Estonian newspaper "Uus Eesti" Apr 25th, 1937 (page2) this was corresponding game between P.Keres and Dr.Schapiro from Taurage (Lithuania).

In phone book of Lithuania for 1935 in city Taurage included only one record for Schapiro: "Šapiro. Josifas, gyd., Respublikos gatvė 10 Taurage". "gyd" means "medical docktor". It was very small town and names of Jewish community members are well known. "Šapiro. Josifas" is " Joseph (Yosef) Schapiro".

The other source of this game I found is an Austrian newspaper "Das Kleine Blatt", April 4th, 1937 (page 28). The names of players: P.Keres - Dr.Schapiro.

May-29-16  hemy: Thanks to Alan McGowan and J. Ken MacDonald - I received other game of Dr.M.Schapiro. It is corresponding game H.Walkerling - M.Schapiro, 1932
