1. Keres vs M Shapiro 1-0331935corrB04 Alekhine's Defense, Modern

Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-24-05  soberknight: It's okay for an uncertain M Shapiro to represent two different players. But since when do two-headed monsters get ratings? Heck, I too could have lost to Keres!
Mar-19-17  wrap99: I think this might be Manny Shapiro, mentioned in an anecdote from the 1970s where another player remembered having played him 50 years before. I believe Manny Shapiro played in California in the 1970s and was born near the beginning of the 20th century.
Mar-19-17  hemy: On November 23 1932 Emanuel Lasker held simultaneous display in Kaunas, Lithuania. This event started at 8:00 pm in café Perkauskas on the main street Laisves Blvd. Lasker played against 24 best Lithuanian chess players. At 2:30 am the games ended with result (+17 =6 -1). The only one who succeeded to defeat Lasker was well known chess player from Taurage Dr.Schapiro. Source: "Lietuvos žinios" ("Lithuanian news"), November 24, 1932, p5.

The same Dr.Schapiro from Taurage played against Paul Keres, as I mentioned in the next comment: Keres vs M Shapiro, 1935 (kibitz #3)

Mar-20-17  wrap99: The Manny Shapiro I am thinking of probably was in the USA in 1932.
