Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-06-04  Vischer: Najdorf seemed to like f4 against the najdorf. Look at all his games on the white side of the najdorf http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches...
Apr-30-04  dragon40: <vischer> Well, the 6.f4 against the Najdorf is an underrated scheme and has a fair amount of poison in it if the Black side is unprepared or underestimating it! The move really tells Black that the White player is preparing an assault on the Kside and is pretty aggressive. With all the analysis on the 6.Bg5 and the "Poisoned Pawn" lines, its also a lesser known and respected move, in my opinion. I also think meeting 6.f4 with 6...e5 invites White to do his worst and throw a full-blown attack at the KSide; the times that I play the Black side of a Najdorf I almost always play "Scheveningen style" with 6...e6, which I feel is a much better system (IF I can get over my sick fantasy with the Polugaevsky Variation:) ).
