Time to resign.> The EGT is not programmed to resign. Instead it finds resources defending when R for Q down, but the material deficit is too much. |

This is not too serious as long as white plays 29 Nd4 before Rh8+ (not after or Qe1+ would be nasty). |

Anything else loses the queen or gets mated anyway.

The one thing I don't understand is how Black went for 19...0-0 20.g6 h6 if he was afraid of the obvious 21.Bh6. Black might have tried 19...Qa6 when Tal can go into an ending with a small advantage or play something like 20.Qe1 to keep things in the middle game. While 21. Bh6 shouldn't have gotten anywhere after the simple 21...gh, we got to see another nice Tal attack! |

In that position, black has an interesting tactical possibility of 19.... Nc3+, which at the moment doesn't work because of 20. Nxc3 bxc3 21. Bxc3.So, you start thinking about ways to divert the e4 knight. I have no idea - how would the game continue after 19.... Nc5? 19.... a4 also comes into consideration. |
