Oct-11-03  Bears092: this is my new favorite game.
Oct-11-03  xu fei: What do they call this? A GM loss?
Oct-11-03  Alchemist: What a coward.
Oct-11-03  Benjamin Lau: Maybe I Penko wanted to give Je Novak a win because they were friends? I Penko is obviously not NN, he has a rating of 2200+ so there's no way this is a serious game.
Feb-27-04  Bitzovich: Soo random..
Mar-29-04  BluE DicE: This looks more like a dare, "Hey Penko, I bet you can't make 10 knight moves without losing a peice!"
Mar-29-04  Dillinger: probably threw the game (for a laugh) having already won/lost the tournament.

jaime gallegos: sometimes appear games like this... unbelievable to figure out playing whites on this way
May-04-04  kevin86: A laugh a minute-there was once a tale on the perfect game that involved both players moving and retreating knights.
May-18-04  MoonlitKnight: I'ev played this opening several times in blitz. It's not all that bad. :)
Jul-29-05  Monoceros: A brilliant application of hypermodern theory. White's position is solid and his pawns are strong and unassailable; by contrast Black has overextended himself on the queenside and in the centre. Out of pity for Black's hopeless position White resigned.
Oct-11-06  Sibahi: <Out of pity for Black's hopeless position White resigned.>

lol

Sep-16-08  syracrophy: ...And we blame on Alekhine for being drunk during his games...
Dec-15-08  WhiteRook48: Who is this guy? Is a Knight his favorite piece?
Dec-22-08  WhiteRook48: See Lehtinen vs Sietio, 1996. It's a bit familiar...
Dec-23-08  WhiteRook48: huh? White was in a winning position?
Feb-01-09  WhiteRook48: this game is so dumb

TheAlchemist: Ok, I think I should give the background on this game, before the comments get out of control, if that's even possible.

Now, while I don't condone mr. Penko's behaviour entirely, but here's what happened...

It all began before the national championship, Penko had already had numerous battles with the national federation on various things, this time he didn't like the fact that the criteria for the participation of senior and junior players were different, i.e. the juniors needed only to be on the rating list, while seniors needed a 2150 national rating. He protested many times, the organizers met with him, trying to convince him that young players are our future etc. His anger apparently boiled to the point, where in this 6th round game he used his scoresheet to write a protest note and was after a few warnings by the arbiter expelled from the tournament.

Here. Hopefully this will clear things up.
