Mar-27-06  tiburon92: could have squeezed out a draw by repetition if her flag didn't fall. All it would have taken was 1 second. ...32.Qxh2+ 33.Kxh2 33. Rh7+ 34. Kg1 34. Rh1+ 35. Kf2...

it gives us patzers some hope though:D

Mr.Jose was rated at 1796 at the time.

Mar-27-06  tiburon92: ...so it is possible to beat a GM after he or she has had a week full of 18 hour workdays.
Jun-26-08  awalters869: roberto plays at the hackettstown chess club from time to time and he says that Susan insists she "blundered" in this game. I do not see it, other than the draw, but her clock had fallen .... looks like she was just outplayed and caught off guard.
Aug-03-08  samsloan: You mean, she could have drawn with 37. ... Qxh2+ 38. Kxh2 Rh7+ 39. Kg1 Rh1+ However, she did not realize that she was losing yet so instead she played 37 ... Qh7? However, I think she could have won with 30 ... Nf3 and if 31. Rd1 then Qxe6 or 31. Nxf3 exf3 followed by fxe2+.
Aug-05-08  Cyphelium: <all below> In fact, Polgar didn't have a draw by repetition at that point: 37.- ♕xh2 38. ♔xh2 ♖h7+ 39. ♔g1 ♖h1+ 40. ♔f2 ♖h2+ 41. ♘g2! ♖xg2+ 42. ♔f1 and white wins.
