Check It Out: I'm liking this Carlsen kid more and more.
Jul-08-09  wanabe2000: Leko is only 30 years old but seems to be past his prime. (How is that possible?). MC should give him a good go with white tomorrow.
Jul-08-09  Knight13: Hell, no.

Go Leko!

Jul-08-09  AgentRgent: I think that Carlsen is definately impressive, but Leko should draw fairly easily I should think.
Jul-08-09  waustad: Expect an English?

Leko hasn't been the same since he blew a +3 lead at the Morelia/Linares tournament a few years back.

kamalakanta: Leko has a plus score against Carlsen, 4 to 2 with 22 draws.

I find Leko is a brilliant tactician.

Jul-09-09  whiteshark: They know each other quite well.
<Peter Leko beat Magnus Carlsen 4 to 2, with 22 draws.> Check it out, there are a lot of rapid games in between, but a draw shouldn't be that unlikely...

Jul-09-09  acirce: Carlsen is yet to beat Lékó in a classical game - the Hungarian is 3-0 not counting draws. The latest win came in Linares last year.

I hope and think that this zero will survive today.

Jul-09-09  brucejavier: i hope that this game isn't gona be a 20 move draw. I would expect carlsen pushing for a win and leko asking for a draw. Go Carlsen!!
Jul-09-09  OneArmedScissor: 1. e4! resign
Jul-09-09  MrSpock: 1. e2-e4 c7-c5 and a real Hitchcock ;-)

Domdaniel: <a real Hitchcock> Qg7 in the Slav, a la Ivanchuk and Bacrot, is a real Hitchcock -- a cross between <Psycho> and <The Lady Vanishes>. But with these two we'll be lucky to reach <39 Steps>.
Jul-09-09  percyblakeney: It's probably a <Dial D for Draw> but I hope Carlsen wins.
Jul-09-09  SugarDom: Who's the drawmongering weasel again?

  tamar: <a real Hitchcock>

I'm hoping more for a real epic here, not just suspense.

David Lean maybe, <Lawrence of Arabia> not <Brief Encounter>.

Jul-09-09  Absentee: I'll go out on a limb and say we'll have "The Battleship Potemkin".
Jul-09-09  SugarDom: Potter Leko?
Jul-09-09  Ulhumbrus: Another twenty-one minutes to go.

kamalakanta: I'm betting on Carlsen to win this one!
Jul-09-09  Robin01: I want to see Leko play a French!
Jul-09-09  MrSpock: I like the french defence!
Jul-09-09  botvinnik64: don't forget that Leko came within one 1/2 point of being World Champion when he faced Kramnik in Brissago, Switzerland a few years back...
