Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-31-11  kingfu: Is there something wrong with 10 Bxh6?
Jan-31-11  Skakalec: <kingfu> well, I don't know what would you achieve with that, white's problem is king left in the centre and that is by far bigger problem then "unimportant" Ph6. For instance:

a) 10. ♗h6 de4 11. fe4?? ♕h4+

b)10. ♗h6 de4 11. ♗g7 ♔g7 12. ♘e4 ♘e4
13. fe4 ♕h4+

On 10. ♗h6 de4 11. ♗g7 ♔g7 12. fe4 ♖e8 black may have both f5 and Bf5 to choose among.

Jan-31-11  Resignation Trap: Alex Wohl called this game the "Brilliancy of the Millennium". The continuation starting at 19...f5 is a pleasure to watch.
Aug-04-11  Anton Stortchilov: Does anybody have an idea why 18. a4? I don't understand the move.
Aug-27-11  DrMAL: If Akobian had played 23.Qc2 black gets only a draw by repetition, Bd7! does not work. As such, 23.Qe4 was a losing move, oddly enough. 27.Ne3?! lost faster to Re8 but 31.Qb1? lost immediately (31...Ne2+! also wins e.g., 32.Kg2 Nxd5!).

<Anton Stortchilov: Does anybody have an idea why 18.a4?> It stifles black's Q-side pawn majority, probably the best move. <Resignation Trap> Alex Wohl clearly needs to see the doctor.
