Penguincw: Topalov has just given himself a birthday. He won his mini-match against Gelfand by drawing with the black pieces and won with the white pieces.
Mar-15-11  fab4: 19...Bf8 turns out bad for Gelfand and 19.. Rb8 just walks into 20.Re1.

Maybe 19..g4?! opens up the kingside for the black queen and the bishop can take on e5.

  Sastre: If 19...g4, 20.Bxe4 Bxe4 21.Qxg4 Bg6 22.Bd6 Qb6 23.Nd2 wins at least a pawn and also prevents Black from castling.
Mar-15-11  Shams: Monster game from Topalov.
Mar-15-11  fab4: @ <Sastre>

yeah saw as far as 22.Bd6 in your line. Not set it up yet,but black has 23...Rc8 and it looks playable to me.

Jun-11-12  Whitehat1963: What's the best finish?
Jun-12-12  Shams: <Whitehat> I can't even suggest a move for Black. White is simply taking on g5, then playing Nd6-e4-f6 and mating, right?
Jun-12-12  I play the Fred: <I can't even suggest a move for Black.> Yeah, really. This was an entirely appropriate resignation.
Jun-12-12  voyager39: That's vintage Topalov - I wish he can regain form and whip these youngesters into some some shape.
