Jun-05-12  Whitehat1963: 16. b5 is a slippery little move that I'd probably fall for over the board to my everlasting regret.

<hellopolgar: this game cost Lahno the tournament. Women's World Rapid Championship (2012)>

Yes, Lahno finished 1/2-point behind the winner Stefanova and in this game she gave Stefanova a whole(!) point by losing an overwhleming winning position with the horrible blunder 36 ♗g3x♘e5?? ♕c6-g2#.

Lahno simply overlooked that her White g3-bishop was the <DEFENDER> of the g2-mating square, by <INTERPOSING/SHIELDING> it from the Black g8-rook. When she played the disastrous 37 ♗g3x♘e5??, this bishop could no longer <DEFEND> the mate on g2 from the e5-sq as it had from the g3-sq (<INTERPOSING>).
