Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-21-14  Karpova: Black's name is given as <F. v. B.>.

Although not annotated, 13...Nxd2 seems decisive. After 13...cxd6 White appears to be in trouble.

White may also have included 15.cxb8=Q and could have taken on d2 afterwards (also not mentioned).

Phony Benoni: Black did well to change his name.

Apparently, this is what happens when Black doesn't take the draw in the Hamppe-Meitner Variation. Although white's attempt to establish an Alekhine's Gun formation before move 15 does not inspire confidence.

If we ever find a loss by the White player, remind me to submit "Pink Flawed."

al wazir: 21...a5 was a wasted move. 21...h3 would have been more useful. But after 22. Ne7+ Rxe7 23. Qxe7, black is still a piece down.
Apr-03-14  Eisenheim: you have to love these crazy attacking games. this is something I would have tried in my youth

Or, if sufficiently violent, "Pink Flayed".

Apr-03-14  kevin86: If I understand right, there is no animal known as panther. Or you can say that MANY animals are panthers. I believe it is derived from panther- another name for big cat. Am I correct?
Apr-03-14  hms123: <kevin86>

<Panthera is a genus within the Felidae family that was named and first described by the German naturalist Oken in 1816.[2] The British taxonomist Pocock revised the classification of this genus in 1916 as comprising the species tiger, lion, jaguar and leopard on the basis of cranial features.[3] Results of genetic analysis indicate that the snow leopard also belongs to the Panthera, a classification that was accepted by IUCN assessors in 2008.[4][5]>

However, the Florida Panther is not part of <Panthera>. Go figure.

<The Florida panther is an endangered subspecies of cougar (Puma concolor) that lives in forests and swamps of southern Florida in the United States. Its current taxonomic status (Puma concolor coryi or Puma concolor couguar) is unresolved, but recent genetic research alone does not alter the legal conservation status. This species is also known as the cougar, mountain lion, puma, and catamount; but in the southeastern United States and particularly Florida, it is exclusively known as the panther. Florida Panthers are usually found in pinelands, hardwood hammocks, and mix swamp forests.>
