Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-01-03  stef21: the 9. axb4 cxd4 10. Bxc4 dxc3 line seems to favour white for he is having two bishops
Jul-08-04  refutor: lol 9 games played all time...i'm making a point to play this line every chance i get ;)

Phony Benoni: THe Internet Chess Club maintains a database of blitz games played by titled and other highly rated players and computers. Out of nearly 7,000,000 games, this line has been used 32 times. Second looks like D65, with 34.
Dec-26-06  2021: I guess Najdorf is good with this opening. He played 3 games and won them all! Even better, He played Reshevsky in two of the games and won! I am making a note to play this opening next tournment!
Dec-26-06  2021: The moves that are shown at the top look wrong to me.

Phony Benoni: The moves are right, so far as they go. 9.Bxc4 cxd4 need to be included to reach the diagrammed position.
Jan-02-07  e4Newman: i didn't realize the nimzo could share ...c5 with the tarrasch

eco is crazy

Mar-25-09  great uncle bulgaria: the near superfluous eco e57
Mar-25-09  WhiteRook48: shouldn't they say 9 Bxc4?
Mar-26-09  chessman95: Only five games? lol, so much for the 'main line'.
Nov-24-10  rapidcitychess: Main line?!?!?!
Mar-22-14  whiteshark: Sumthin's rong with the line <1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 e6 3 Nc3 Bb4 4 e3 O-O 5 Nf3 d5 6 Bd3 c5 7 O-O Nc6 8 a3 dxc4 9>. It looks incomplete compared to the given diagram. There are also no notable games.

On the contrary the OE shows 185 games Opening Explorer

I'd guess ceegee is able fix it with some Ctrl+Alt+Del commands... ;)

Nov-05-14  whiteshark: Thanks <ceegee> for fixing it today!
Jul-30-20  rmraovich: E57: Nimzo-Indian, 4.e3, main line with 8...dc and 9...cd 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. e3 O-O 5. Nf3 d5 6. Bd3 c5 7. O-O Nc6 8. a3 dxc4 9. Bxc4 cxd4
Nov-22-22  Ninas Husband: There has never been a game with this opening? E57 should be named The Unknown Opening!

fredthebear: Opening Explorer "got skinny" over the summer -- the games may exist but many are considered unworthy and don't qualify for exploration. The sock puppeteer who does not play tournament chess and never prepared an opening repertoire keeps telling management how to do their job and they follow left along in the weirdest way. I'm running into variations with one game example on an all-too-frequent basis.

VasuGina: Here are three, best of the best E57 games:

Henrique Mecking - Bent Larsen, Palma de Mallorca 1970, 43 0-1

Alexsander A Shashin - Viktor Korchnoi, USSR 1973, 35 1-0

Tigran V Petrosian - Yuri Balashov, USSR 1974, 28 1-0
