  WannaBe: Jerry? Is that you??
Oct-23-05  soberknight: Jerry Rice was born in 1962 and grew up in Mississippi. If you want to see him play chess in 1977 in Cincinnati, you really are a WannaBe. :)
Oct-23-05  Anatooly Homedepotov: Is he related to Basmati Rice from Pakistan?

Open Defence: <Is he related to Basmati Rice from Pakistan?> Basmati Rice is from India .. well Pakistan was part of India once .. (ducks the hand grenades for that one)
Oct-23-05  notsodeepthought: <Wannabe> I wouldn't rule it out. I just played through his one and only game in the database, A Mcdaniel vs J Rice, 1977, and he certainly was on the receiving end of that one.

(OK, so it's not my best effort...)>

Oct-23-05  Anatooly Homedepotov: <Open Defence> lol! Like your new avatar. Looks sleek and sophisticated.
Oct-23-05  lopium: When I was in Peru I ate a lot of JRice. That was good. At least, that was better than in a McD.(aniel)
Oct-23-05  Robin01: <Open Defence> Why can you no longer play competitive chess?

Open Defence: <Robin01> <Why I dont play competitve chess> Coz I am not as good as I like to be .. I thought I was good enough to become a WIM .. however while I would like to blame lack of time to play in rated events, I must also acknowledge that if I was a bit better I would have made the time and probably spent less time on my career
Oct-24-05  Robin01: <Open Defence> So you no longer wish to play in competitive chess. I understand. Your career is probably more important, since competitive chess usually does not pay well.

Open Defence: <robin01> not only that .. if i was a player of master strength i probably would play no .. having no prodigious talent... I have not worked hard to see if my chess dreams could be achieved any other way .. e.g. maybe hard work hehehehe
Mar-22-06  RiceMiester: This is my brother Jerry Rice. Iam Bradley Rice. I think that chess is a game for life!
