<Shajmaty> Quitters are losers that's why i don't quit smoking. Don't quit my friend <Shajmaty>. Look, you still have a chance to break the top ten with $2,937 while i have -$3,143 ok?

<Bruckner> i appreciate your result updates, keep it going!

i believe <CG Bookie> is doin his best to give our paychecks quick but he's helpless in getting results.

<bharatiy: Have Fun!>

Yeah! With <bharatiy>'s -$8,326 he's still having fun like me in the elite famous Negative Club..

Chessbookie rocks!

Sep-08-09  SloVice: Leg Update:
<capatal> has taken the lead with 12607 chessbucks. Will <7Knights> still be content to sit at 12270 or will <7Knights> start betting again? ROADDOG is down but not out, 3762 out of first place. <technical draw> hangs tough in 8th place. Former basement dweller <Sneaky> still has time to crack the top 10. 3-time champ, <SwitchingQuylthulg>, has decided to give the rest of us a chance this leg while he hangs out near the bottom.

<malthrope you just made my ~ChessBookie Betting Quote of the Month!~ ;)> Thank you kindly! I'm honored!

Sep-08-09  Bruckner: Results from the 3rd round of the Final Chess Masters Bilbao 2009.

Karjakin 1-0 Grischuk
Shirov 0-1 Aronian

Watch out, <TD>!

Sep-09-09  technical draw: <NakoSonorense> Good show. But maybe too late for a comeback?

I see <Sneaky> is back in the top 10. Hang in there!

Watch out, <TD>!> LOL :D

My situation in the current standings is rather strange. My ranking (#308) is the same as the # of pts. that I have (308).

Sep-11-09  wordfunph: ahhhh...difficult to catch <NakoSonorense> joke joke! I'm holding the 5th spot of the elite Negative Club.

Sep-12-09  technical draw: Hey <Sneaky>, remember this?:

<Sneaky: Curse you Technical Draw!!! And I was making such a great comeback, too. Some seasons I'm neither "stellar king" nor "cellar king" but just a flopping fish.>

That was May 21. Well, like I said "it is better to make good bets than to curse TD"

I guess you followed my advice. Good show!

Sneaky: I can't believe it. I was way down in the basement and now I'm going to qualify. For a long time I was simultaneously sitting on a large pile of cash and had a large loan, trying desperately to double-up and get out of the loanshark's clutches. Then one day I got lucky and suddenly I go from skid row to the penthouse of the Sands!

You NEVER are out of the running in this game! Well done CG, the Chess Bookie game is more subtle than I had given it credit for.

Sep-12-09  technical draw: Let's close this leg today. I'm too close to that number 11 spot.
Sep-12-09  Bradah: Noooooo, don't close it yet, I just made it on the positive side today with lots of chessbucks sitting around. I want to bet them all at once.

There is one problem though, there is no open tournament to bet on and yet the loanshark keeps charging me interest.

For Chessbookie, how about freeze the loan interest if there is no game to bet on? Thank You

Sep-13-09  wordfunph: bro <parrot> i'm closing on you..

364. wordfunph -8,106
365. parrot -8,249
366. wallytherhino -8,747
367. bharatiy -10,700
368. TITIKIZA -11,540
369. NakoSonorense -16,060

<Bradah> has a point, i pay $80 a day to <loanshark>, maybe <Chessgames Bookie> may consider freezing the interest..thanks.

Sneaky: <Sneaky: Curse you Technical Draw!!!> I hereby retract all curses and now instead I'm rubbing the baby's head for good luck.

<7Knights> is the one with a real questions to ask. Should he risk his 2nd place standing at 12,250 c$ to try to assail <capatal>'s enormous 19,500 c$ standings?

I'm at only 8,279. If I find a way to make a 1000 bet at 12:1 odds I'd take it. Then I'd have a small chance of making a dramatic 1st place finish that would take everybody by surprise (myself included).

The funny thing is that if everybody in positions 2 through 12 played such a strategy it would take a great bit of luck for poor capatal to hang onto his huge lead. Each player below captal is unlikely to get lucky... but combined, one of them is bound to get lucky! Of course capatal is free to compound his lead a little bit more so that people trying this trick undershoot.

By the way, when is the final day of this leg? Obviously it must be soon but when exactly?

Chessgames Bookie: <Stonehenge> Thanks for letting us know about the Dutch Championships. Though the field is not particularly strong, we'll book bets on the games as there seems to be little else going on in the chess world.

Tickets on the Cuijpers-Tiviakov game have been refunded.

<Bradah> Sorry, can't do that, the software would have to be altered.

<Sneaky and All> The summer leg will end on September 26th at the conclusion of the Short-Efimenko match, which you can wager on now: Match: Short vs Efimenko: Winner
