Apr-30-07  lonepsycho: <cuendillar> 33. ... d2! 34. ♗h3 ♕g6+ 35. ♖g4 ♕h6 36. ♖g3 ♘c1 37. ♗xc8 ♗e2 and the Queen is ours (-2.44 14/39)
Apr-30-07  Themofro: 31 Rc8 for the poll.
Apr-30-07  cuendillar: <lonepsycho> Thanks! I missed that trick. By the way, another vote for Rc8.
Apr-30-07  Xeeniner: Am I missing something? 31. ...d3 32. Qd8 Qf5 33. f3 Bd5 looks fairly strong
Apr-30-07  Knightlord: <Xeeniner> After 31...d3 32.Qxc4 we lose, see page 547.
Apr-30-07  Judah: Knightlord posted the refutation to d3 above: 32. Queen takes bishop. If we trade queens and play pawn to d2, 34. Bd5+ Kh8 35. Bf3 covering the pawn, and rook cannot take bishop because of the backrank mate.
Apr-30-07  Hugin: cuendillar: Do we have anything conclusive after 31...Rc8 32.Rh4 d3 33.Qd1, which seems white's only sensible option to the well-analysed 32.Qd1 ?

Hugin: 30...d4 31.Re4 31...Rc8 32.Rh4 d3 33.Qd1 d2 34.Bh3 Qe7 35.Bxc8 Qxh4 36.Bg4 Bd5 37.h3 h5 38.Bf3 Qg5+ 39.Kh1 Qd8 40.Bg2 Qd7 41.Bxd5+ Qxd5+ 42.Kg1 Qe4 43.Bc3 Qd3 44.Bb2 Qxh3 45.f3 Qh4 46.Kf1 and black wins. We are not doing anything empty handed.....From a earlier post which is also in my avatar..

Apr-30-07  Knightlord: Mistakes by GMYS or not, I think we are playing a beautiful game. Just my opinion.
Apr-30-07  Hugin: lonepsycho: Now that 31. ... Rd8 has appeared as a candidate move, does anyone have a refutation for this move? It appears to be inferior to 31. ... Rc8 but still draws with best play (read: gives Black no winning chances).<<<<<

Please check out the forums and btw noone is talking about a draw any longer, we will take this GM DOWN!!hehe

Apr-30-07  lonepsycho: <Hugin> I think my refutation's prettier. =)

32. ♖h4 d3 33. ♕d1 d2! 34. ♗h3 <♕g6+> 35. ♖g4 ♕h6 36. ♖g3 ♘c1 37. ♗xc8 ♗e2

Apr-30-07  MrSpock: <31. ... d3??> looses the game.

<31. ... Bd5> enables a forced draw by perpetual check.

(For more information click on my avatar.)

<31. ... Rd8> is ok but <31. ... Rc8> appears to be stronger.

<31. ... b5> is another possibility.

Black has the choice between several good moves. That's a good sign :-)

Apr-30-07  tbentley: <Artar1>I think a 31...Rc8 32. Qd1 d3 forum would be good too.

Apr-30-07  lonepsycho: <tbentley> Good suggestion. I think Artar1 neglected the forum because 32. ... ♕f5 has been generally regarded as a better move (by HIARCS, Rybka, Shredder, etc.) and leads to more promising endgame positions.
Apr-30-07  Chessmaster333: I see the majoriy of the votes are for Rc8. Why is this so good dosn't it just lose us a pawn. it is said that if he takes the pawn we can get a better position can someone tell me how? please I'm not sure what to vote for.
Apr-30-07  vajeer: what about
31...d3 32.Qxc4 Qxc4 33.Rxc4 d2
Apr-30-07  MrSpock: <vajeer: what about 31...d3 32.Qxc4 Qxc4 33.Rxc4 d2>

34. Bb5+ Kh8
35. Bf3 Rxf3
36. Rc8+ Rf8
37. Rxf8#

Apr-30-07  Timex: <Chessmaster333> It does, but if you capture it with the bishop, you will run into 32... Bd5.

So, 31... Rc8 sets up an invisible threat against the queen. If 32. Bxd4, 32... Bd5, winning the exchange.

4. (-2.59): 37.Qf1 Bxa4 38.Qe1 Bd7 39.Kh1 Rc2 40.Bf1 Bc6

5. (-3.34): 37.Qe2 Bf5 38.Qf1 Bh3 39.Kh1 Rc1 40.Bxh3 Rxf1+ 41.Bxf1 Qb1 42.Kg2 Qxb4 43.Bf2 Qxa4 44.Bd3

Please vote for 31...Rc8; it's our best move.

Apr-30-07  ZeroOne: Chessmaster333: If 31...Rc8 32.Bxd4? Bd5! threatening to take the white queen with 33...Rxc2 but also threatening to take the white rook with 33...Bxe4. White cannot protect both of these pieces and looses quality.
Apr-30-07  MrSpock: <Tabanus:>

Thanks for the Analysis of the line: 31. Re4 Rc8 32. Qd1 Qf5 33. <Bxd4>

Apr-30-07  Skylark: Heh, I wonder if anyone's offering a draw now.
Apr-30-07  ganstaman: So generally I've just trusted that the pawn couldn't be taken because people said so and provided some moves. But until Artar put in those diagrams, I didn't realize just how many threats we can make if he ever messes up again.
Apr-30-07  Artar1: ganstaman:

Thanks. Pictures always help; they sure help me.

Ron: I just voted Rc8, but still open minded.

I think we are winning.
