Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-29-16  Bruce Graham: Some sharp encounters are expected here. Wei Yi and the foreigners like Mamedyarov, Malakhov and Inarkiev should provide some interesting games.
Jul-02-16  ex0duz: Come on Ding, you HAVE to devastate, since i think that's the only way that he won't drop ratings here.. ah, first world problems lol

And good to see both Wang's(Yue/Hao) and the other usual suspects from their national team..

  HeMateMe: Is Hou playing?
Jul-02-16  Alien Math: Think Hou Yifan appear at 7th Hainan Danzhou 2016, 7 - 17 Jul 2016

and 1st Silk Road Master Tournament 18 - 22 Jul 2016 after

Jul-03-16  Pedro Fernandez: It is not strange for me that <HMM> makes that kind of question (about HOU). <HeMateMe> always has been characterized as an nonconformist, but also a very good chess player. Greetings my great friend!
Jul-03-16  cro777: The Chinese Chess League Division A is one of the strongest and longest running leagues of its kind. Twelve teams are competing in 22 rounds (from April to December). Each team consists of three male and two female players.

http://www.sinaimg.cn/dy/slidenews/...

After the first two legs (7 rounds out of 22) the Shanghai team (with Ni Hua and Zhou Jianchao on top boards and Ju Wenjun on woman's board) is leading with 11 match points ahead of the Chongqing team (with Zhou Weiqi on the top board, the only GM on the team) with 10 points.

(The real chess elegance - WGM Zhang Xiaowen from the Shanghai team)

The third leg (rounds 8-11) will be held from 23 to 26 of July, 2016.

HeMateMe: still playing through these games. The Chinese tournament always has a lot of decisive games.
Jul-21-16  cro777: The third leg of the league (rounds 8-11) starts on Saturday (July 23) in Jiaxing, a city in northern China well known as the hometown of silk.

Jiaxing is also known as Zuili (Drunken Plums). Drunken-plum is one of the ancient varieties of Chinese plum. Widely celebrated in Chinese poems, the plum blossoms represent endurance, virtue and longevity:

"Nothing can come close to drunken feelings and plum blossoms."

Jul-25-16  sonia91: Jeffery Xiong is playing in the Chinese Chess League for Zhejiang; first time that an American plays here, I think (the foreigners playing in the Chinese league are usually from Russia, other former Soviet countries like Ukraine and Georgia, and India)
Jul-25-16  Mr. V: <sonia91> I don't yet see any of his games listed in this tournament.

Xiong, interestingly enough, was also one of the first Americans to play in Cuba at the Capablanca memorial earlier this year.

Tabanus: This page is to be merged with Chinese Chess League (2016) (and under that name). Not to be confused with the Chinese team championship in Wuxi, 28 July - 4 August, which is here: http://www.chess-results.com/tnr231...
