 | | Sally Simpson: A good tournament this, a very low percentage of draws. Some surprising one move blunders by some very good players. Long OTB lay off due to covid and too many internet games so the 3d vision is shot to hell, sense of danger has lay dormant. |

Michael Adams could appear, disguised, wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, obliterate the competition and only then be revealed, at the end of the tournament? I'm just thinking of ways to spruce up next year's event! Or, he and Nigel Short could come disguised as one of Prince Charles polo ponies, one player wearing the head, the other would be the horse's ass. I'm thinking we put Short in the rear, based on past behaviors. Of course, the magic polo pony would completely win. Great theater! |

The game hasn't appeared on CG yet but when it does it needs to be made GOTD. Given that it's an 'Agincourt Defence' then surely <Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'> is a shoe-in for the pun. |

First, congratulations! 7-11th ahead of Yermolinsky among others is terrific. Second, the comparison is a bit unfair because the U.S. event was for age 50 and above (I assume I'm right about that because Jesse Krai played and he is exactly 50 years old). |

| | FSR: <keypusher> Thanks! And yes, you're quite right about the age difference between the two events. Dmitry Gurevich, 65, the tournament winner, is the only one of the four GMs old enough for the British event. Yermo is 64, and Kraai and Fishbein are 50 and 54, respectively. |
