Russian Championship Higher League (2019)

The 72nd Russian Championship Higher League tournament was a 9-round Swiss taking place in the Ring Premier Hotel in Yaroslavl, Russia from 27 June to 6 July 2019. Rest day: July 2. The top five players would qualify for the Russian Championship Superfinal (2019). Time control: 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 more minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1. Draw offers not allowed before move 40. The overall prize fund was 5 million rubles, or around 70,000 euros. Tournament director: Alexander Tkachev. Chief arbiter: Alexey S. Moskvin. Alexandr Predke won on 3rd tiebreak (number of wins) ahead of Alexey Sarana, both with 6.5/9.

And top seed Fedoseev, after losing to Predke in rd 8, is out of contention for the spots for the Superfinal.
