Feb-21-22  whiteshark: If a town in Germany misbehaves badly, they have to put <Bad> right before their name.

perfidious: <whiteshark>, so far as I know, there are no German towns called Gut or Good; can you explain why? I have no idea.
Feb-21-22  whiteshark: <perfidious: <an you explain why?>>

The licensing laws and implementing regulations for this were such an insurmountable hurdle that applicants started going nuts over it at the time. That's why since then the city names mostly start with 'Nord' (i.e. originally nerd, but that has changed over time).

German 'syntax' point of view

(das) Gut,

noun/word root for undefined things of 'value', common in different composite names/words

e.g. Lev Gutman, Gutshof, Leergut

(nur) gut,

adjective, good/bad contrast, rare 'guest' naming human settlements for good reasons

(das) Bad,

noun for bath(room), pretty much everything build near/above water as mentioned by the fish

'Unavailable' in German

(der/die/das) Good, noun

for reasoons

Feb-21-22  Cibator: There was this Welshman who wanted to go there, but unfortunately he came to a bad end, bach.

("Bach" - term of friendly address used among the Welsh - literal meaning is "little one".)
