Chessgames.com Chess Event Description
World Youth Championship U18 (2016)

Time-frame: The tournament was held at Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia from September 22nd until October 3rd.

Much like some of the earliest youth championship events (for example, see 1995 WYCC(1) sections whose sections were held at either São Lourenço or Guarapuava in Brazil), the dates and cities of the tournament locales were split again during this series for the event bids.

Other similar youth championships are detailed below:

World Cadets U12 (2016) (open and women's Cadet's sections, held at Batumi, Georgia 18 - 31 October 2016) and World Youth Championship U16 (Girls) (2016) (women's sections of WYCC, some games including U18, U16 and U14) - held at Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia from September 22nd until October 3rd.

World Junior Championship (2016) and World Junior Championship (Girls) (2016) (both were at KIIT University at Bhubaneswar from August 7th until the 22nd)

Previous: World Youth Championship (2012) (events from 2013, 2014 and 2015 have not yet been thoroughly uploaded to an event page as of yet)

HeMateMe: Any Americans here? Isn't there a fellow named Jeffrey Xiong, an American thought to be future top ten material, playing in something like this?
Sep-26-16  JohnBoy: Christopher Wu is a yank. Xiong just won the world junior (under 20?) so this doesn't make sense for him.

No errors found! (But game scores not checked.) Adel Rahman has 10 games only, apparently because his opponent did not turn up for rd. 1.
