Troll Masters Open (2003)

The Gausdal Troll Masters Open (Arnold J. Eikrem Memorial) was won by GM Rozentalis of Latvia with 8 points. 12 year old FM Magnus Carlsen of Norway scored his 1st IM norm after beating 14 year old IM Mark Bluvshtein of Canada to score 7 points out of 10. FM Craig Hanley also scored an IM norm, but missed a GM norm in the last round when he only drew with GM Miezis. The last IM norm was scored by FM Helge Nordahl, also Norway. Magnus Carlsen won the blitz tournament "Snorre Open" after beating GM Ovsejewitch in the semi-final. Three GMs and an IM took part in the blitz tournament.
