There have always been a lot of Dutch GMs who skipped this tournament. Although not the same ones every year. I think they all have participated in Dieren, but not all of them every year. Even Timman is playing here this year. Which he hasn't done in a long time, I think. |

May be satisfied with his performance (he played some nice instructive games). Gives Roi Miedema (6.5) a chance to catch up, which would be a major accomplishment for him. |

But just because a tourney page is put up for a tournament outside the U.S. while a US tournament is going on, doesn't make the action anti-Americanism. |

There is only one, and I repeat, ONE person in this tournament that I've ever heard of; Jan Timman. The US Open has two that I can think of right off the top of my head; Hikaru Nakamura and Alexandra Kosteniuk. So, I repeat, why doesn't the US Open have a page when the Dutch Open does?
