keypusher: What a great performance by Najdorf!
Jun-11-24  vonKrolock: Writer Witold Gombrowicz (*Poland 1904 - +France 1969), who lived in Argentine between 1939 and 1963, would have visited Mar del Plata during this Tournament, according to Sergio Negri: <"In March 1946, Frydman invited him to Mar del Plata and he witnessed the Chess Tourney that was held that month in the spa city between the 13th and 31st, in which his compatriot Miguel Najdorf, already by then settled with definitive prospects in Argentine took part. Najdorf in fact won the Tournament ahead of Swede Gideon StÃ¥hlberg and German (turned Argentine) Paul Michel.">

# Although Gombrowicz was a notorious Chess enthusiast, there is no record (*so far I researched googling around...) of any of his Games: some photos show positions caught at the moment of capturing the image, and reports exist of who were his (habitual\casual) opponents ...
