Jul-15-14 | | Wavy: You have to cheer for Wesley to have 2 more draws then. lol |
Jul-15-14 | | whiteshark: <Wavy: You have to cheer for Wesley to have 2 more draws then. lol> Exactly! ACP Golden Classic: SO SPECIAL ;D |
Jul-17-14 | | waustad: I sort of like the odd number of players idea so that one avoids the extra white issue, though it makes it a little less obvious who's really leading. Seeing who is +1 or such makes more sense than total points. The last tournament I remember that used adjournments was one where Anna Muzychuk had an excellent result, but the tournament wasn't rated. It was in the Netherlands if I recall. |
Jul-17-14 | | geeker: I'm pretty sure there was a significant tournament with adjournments about a year ago. But I haven't been able to recall specifics. :( |
Jul-17-14 | | Mr. V: Hi all!
I believe you're remembering this tournament: ACP Golden Classic (2012) |
Jul-17-14 | | Mr. V: I really like the way the ACP looks like they're organizing their special tournaments. |
Jul-18-14 | | waustad: As usual, win or loss some of the most interesting games are Sutovsky's. |
Jul-18-14 | | waustad: <Mr_V>Yes that was it. I final round loss to Ivanchuk kept Muzychuk from having a plus score in a tournament where she was the only player who'd never been over 2700. |

 | | WannaBe: Woo, if W. So draws the last game, I hit the 4.5 pts wager with bookie!! =) |
Jul-18-14 | | wordfunph: interesting if Wesley will settle for a draw to clinch the title or go for Brunello's throat. |
Jul-18-14 | | torrefan: He might go for Brunello's throat--to kiss it. |
Jul-18-14 | | Mr. V: Waustad:
Yes, Muzychuk was really impressive in 2012 against the men, and I'm always glad to see Gata Kamsky near the top of a tournament. Here I hope Nepomniachtchi can pull it together for his last game. I liked his win against Brunello. |
Jul-19-14 | | shintaro go: Another excellent interview by wesley after round 6 |
Jul-20-14 | | geniokov: Now,woodpushers of the whole world will now understand why they are so many Wesley So fans at his page and even so many trolls still distructing it!This is why? From a non-chess loving country up to No#12 in the world as of now and still continue getting stronger! |
Jul-20-14 | | torrefan: Excellent speech geniokov. |
Jul-20-14 | | 1d410: What about #11. I don't even remember who that is. Dominguez? or maybe Kramnik now....? |
Jul-20-14 | | Wavy: <WannaBe: Woo, if W. So draws the last game, I hit the 4.5 pts wager with bookie!! =)> Wow! Congrats! You hit the jackpot! :-) |
Jul-20-14 | | Mr. V: Wow, tough tournament for nepomniachtchi. |
Jul-20-14 | | dunkenchess: Wesley gave a hint earlier to draw his last game and nutcherly his opponent would grab it. |
Jul-20-14 | | Wavy: <dunkenchess> The objective is to win the tournament. I suspect that his coach Susan suggested to draw the last game if that means securing the victory. |
Jul-21-14 | | PhilFeeley: <From a non-chess loving country> Really? It seems to me that chess is pretty popular in the Philippines. |
Jul-21-14 | | LucB: <<From a non-chess loving country> Really? It seems to me that chess is pretty popular in the Philippines.> <PhilFeeley>
As Canadians, we know all there is to know about non-chess loving countries, correct? :D |
Jul-21-14 | | posoo: ANOTHER thing wrong with tornament chess. JOBA and SO have same wins. They should share titele.
DRAWS? Are you kidding me?! |
Jul-21-14 | | Wavy: < posoo: ANOTHER thing wrong with tornament chess. JOBA and SO have same wins. They should share titele.
DRAWS? Are you kidding me?!>
How come they don't have the same score? Are you suggesting that only the wins should count and that draws and loses should not be counted? |
Jul-22-14 | | posoo: CORRECT wavy. |
