Oct-10-21  fabelhaft: This is Paikidze’s first OTB event in three and a half years, since the US women championships in 2018. When she won that one she hadn’t played an OTB event in almost a year, so she hasn’t been particularly active the last almost five years.

Oct-12-21  suenteus po 147: Carissa Yip wins again after losing yesterday to bring her tied for first with Eswaran and Nemcova after six rounds. I've been enjoying watching the livestream from the St. Louis Chess Club of the US Championships. Seirawan and Ashley provide very entertaining and insightful commentary, and I especially like the simultaneous coverage of both events, giving them equal space and value. Wish I had had it back when I was a young'un!

HeMateMe: What happened anna Z? Semi retired, no longer keeping up?
Oct-13-21  suenteus po 147: <HeMateMe> Zatonskih won her game today, but in the post game interview she confessed that she hasn't been studying like she used to. Also, she confessed to not feeling well, though she acknowledged everyone says that when they lose. Hearing her speak today she clearly has an enjoyment of the game and analyzing positions. I hope she manages to find her form in the next five rounds.

Oct-16-21  suenteus po 147: Exciting round today as Krush and Nemcova face each other, both within reach of current first place Yip.
Oct-17-21  edbermac: Carissa Yip US champion!
Oct-18-21  pazzed paun: Strange stuff
For 5 out 6 last years
The number one seed has failed to win
Do not know what it will take for the players to get serious about the tournament I.K. Has lost drive and focus
Been recently distracted by posting anti science Covid 19 stuff
Oct-18-21  suenteus po 147: <I.K. Has lost drive and focus Been recently distracted by posting anti science Covid 19 stuff> Oh no, really? That's sad to read.
Oct-18-21  RookFile: Congratulations Carissa Yip!
Oct-18-21  pazzed paun: This has to be one of the most redundant
Pointless reoccurring tournament out there
If the winners of the last five in a row tournaments have not used their victories to help level up their game instead they have stayed stagnant

Congratulations to Carissa Yip and hopeful soon she finds a worthy rival to push her even higher

Oct-18-21  0ZeR0: Congratulations to IM Carissa Yip. It's been great fun watching her direct attacking style in this tournament. I hope that she continues to improve and I wish her luck in the future.
Oct-22-21  siggemannen: Yip is pretty good but like someone mentioned, there doesn't seem to be any consistency in the American women's chess, at least since Crush and Anna Z heyday. Guess it will take a few more years to get a new leader of the pack. Reminds me a bit of the situation in WTA. There are of course the top 10 but everyone seem to be able to beat anyone else on a given day

Alice Lee is really good.
