Nine rounds in nine days, starting on Thursday 2 January (45 games). Rest day: 5 January, with two rounds (4 and 5) on Monday 6 January. The event was visited by Max Euwe and Mikhail Botvinnik. The latter held a clock simul versus the ten juniiors on 5 January and managed to win +4 =4 -2 (he lost to Hartoch and Harris). Hartoch and Sloth shared the tournament win (7.5/9) with 15-year-old Hübner in 3td place.
