Format: Three Round team tournament.
Introduction
The eleventh annual intercollegiate chess tournament opened at the Columbia Grammar School, 34 East Fifty-first street, Manhattan, shortly after 1 o'clock this afternoon.
The personal of the rival teams:
Columbia—Frank H. Sewall, Howard A. Keeler, George W. Tucker, jr., and Frederick B. Barshell.
Harvard—Claude T. Rice, Percy W. Bridgman, William C (sic). Clerk and L. P. Carr.
Princeton—Charles S. Richardson, John H. Hankinson, Louis H (sic). Bissell and Arthur J. Pilgram.
Yale—James F. Sawin, Edward B. Adams, Edward B. Hull and Norman C. Hull.
Edward A. Caswell, Yale '66, the promoter and manager of these annual contests, made a speech of welcome to the students and called time.
The hours of play each day are from 1 P.M. to 6 P.M., and from 8 P.M. to 10 P.M., at which time unfinished games will be adjudicated by the referees, E. Delmar and H. Helms. The director of play is Dr. L. D. Broughton, jr., of Brooklyn. (1)
