Nov-28-23  macer75: Why did Karpov play so many more games than everyone else?
Nov-28-23  whiteshark: Because rusbase could only get hold of 24 out of 75 games and Karpov obviously kept all his game sheets.

Thanks! Good to know. I'm going to keep all of my score sheets in the future, in case I run into a similar situation.

Nov-28-23  whiteshark: <macer75> You should definitely do that!

I myself threw all my collected chess scoresheets and many other chess folders into the waste paper recycling box at New Year 2000, after I hadn't played chess for 11 years (starting a family). Occasionally I wished I had these documents of my youth back.

Nov-29-23  macer75: <whiteshark> Now that's a y2k story I haven't heard!

It's been a while since I've played OTB chess, but I do plan to hang on to my scoresheets if I do at some point in the future.
