Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-06-04  Bobsterman3000: Nice finish. Black's rooks never got off their original squares...
Apr-06-04  Cerebrate2006: this guys almost has as bad of a last name as the Butt guy
Apr-06-04  Jim Bartle: Euwe was a doctor, right? Was his opponent possibly Dr. Evill??
Oct-19-05  AlexanderMorphy: another battle between good and evil, with th ever popular good winning once again in the form of Mr Euwe!

OhioChessFan: Very good. "Ole" instead of "All" might be a bit better.

FSR: <OCF> Thanks for the suggestion. I agree, and changed it accordingly to <The Rout of Ole Evill>. It fits, since Evill was 68 at the time, about eight years longer than the life expectancy then.

offramp: Not a fantastic game, except for the very end. The pun is a bit weak. I think User: AlexanderMorphy 's idea was a bit better.
Jan-26-21  hdcc: I am Evill, not Euwe.
Jan-26-21  Brenin: The Rev. William Ernest Evill should have known that greed is bad: conceding a P with 25 ... Qe8 26 Qf5+ g6 27 Qf7+ Qxf7+ 28 Rxf7+ Kg8 29 Rxc7 was needed, rather than the disastrous 25 ... Qxc2.
Jan-26-21  GlennOliver: Fine pun, FSR and OCF.

  OhioChessFan: Great pun. :p
Jan-26-21  Brenin: Evill has only three games in the CG database, but two are against world (or future world) champions, including a draw as Black against Steinitz in a probably winning endgame position; it's not clear, but my guess is that this was a simul <Steinitz vs W.E.Evill 1874>.
Jan-26-21  Granny O Doul: Ball W. E. Evill (I acknowledge that the joke has sort of been made already on his player page).
