Dec-07-24  stone free or die: <FSR>

1st time around - <Only super-easy if you've seen it before ...>

2nd time around - <For those familiar with the motif, this is a one-second puzzle.>

They both say the same thing, and yet again, they're saying something different.

Dec-07-24  dehanne: Powerplay chess from white.

takebackok: Easy no think Monday mate after 26. Qh6
Dec-09-24  Cecco: This mate combination, and this game in particular, has become definitely popular among chessgames.com fans. This year, POTD on 04/15, 11/24, 12/07 and today. In the past, according to comments, 07/29/2008 and 09/18/2018. No complaints, I just like statistics.
It must be hard to come up with a new puzzle every single day.
Dec-09-24  saturn2: One of the reasons a knight on Nf5 is dangerous.
Dec-09-24  newzild: A bit hard for a Monday - it took me a few seconds.

Then I realised it was still a Sunday in 'Murica.

Dec-09-24  mel gibson: Same one back again - LOL.
Dec-09-24  Messiah: A long lost friend! It really shows how absurd it is to pay for the premium membership: not even new puzzles appear, just the old crap repeating indefinitely, without bringing back the chessbookie, the team matches, or implementing some hypercomplicated functions like searching for Fischer960 games or using spoiler tags.

I am eagerly awaiting the reappearance of the <A Pin, but not a Safety Pin> GOTD.

Dec-10-24  Rosbach: Qh6 and it's over.
Dec-22-24  mel gibson: Why is this Monday puzzle turning up again?
It's Sunday - insane level.
Dec-22-24  geeker: I think I know this one by now, having seen it here at least 3 times in recent memory. :-)

<26...> ?

Enjoy your Sunday! ;)

Dec-22-24  Cecco: <whiteshark>: spectacular.

My late father-in-law was from "Minnesotah" and his rural accent sounded like "Murica" in your comment. Among other things, he flew the Navy photo-recon over the Iwo Jima invasion in WWII. You're making fun of his rural accent and other Americans who speak that way because why?

Dec-22-24  FM David H. Levin: <<geeker>: I think I know this one by now, having seen it here at least 3 times in recent memory. :-) >

CG.com meets "Groundhog Day."

FSR: Chessgames has evidently adopted the Woodpecker Method for its puzzles: run the same puzzle seven times to drill it into the user's head.

  FSR: <stacase: . . . My late father-in-law was from "Minnesotah">

Why are you making fun of people from Minnesota, like Vice Presidents Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale, and Minnesota Governor and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz?

perfidious: <MB>, it has been a POTD five different days of the week.
Dec-22-24  FinnPatzer: Definitely not "insane".
Maybe CG should link the difficulty evaluation to the position and not to the time in USAmerica.

Jan-06-25  newzild: <stacase> Yeah, that's right. My comment was aimed directly at your late father in law and had nothing to do with the international date line.
