Jul-28-06  makaveli52: <On closer inspection g4 sucked because of h5 Qg3 and now Rce4.> h5 gxh5 Rxh5
Qd7 looks strong?

I think the refutation was to g4 was Kf8, after which i originally planned Qd7, which would require some kind of distraction in order to slip the queen past the g4 pawn, w/o the opponent noticing

Jul-28-06  independentthinker: I still maintain that 23 Rf5 would have given Magnus some good chances. I have nothing to back this up, of course hehehe just a karpovian intuition.
Jul-28-06  Offield: Oh, leave Aronian out of this. Sure he's playing brilliantly. And Carlsen is acting like a wobbly teenager - but he's also on an upward trajectory that hasn't been seen since Fischer and Kasparov. Anything could happen. It'll be good to actually have candidates matches again, is all.
Jul-28-06  micahtuhy: now I think 32. h5
Jul-28-06  tldr3: Magnus resigned
Jul-28-06  1R4N: yes ..........
Jul-28-06  ahmadov: Is this unstoppable young man losing?
Jul-28-06  percyblakeney: It's over, 0-1, good game by Volokitin.
Jul-28-06  Valandil: I think the error was 22. Qg4
Jul-28-06  Atking: I meant 31.Qd3 but Carlsen has plaid another move
Jul-28-06  Lucky Larry: 33 Bd7 ... 34 Bh3
Jul-28-06  Offield: now 32...h5 wins at once.
