  Teyss: Don't know what's better, <ToledoChessFan>'s pun or <Honza Cervenka>'s lyrics.

White thought that by exchanging Qs as early as move 17 he would have a better endgame with an net exchange up but his P structure was too lousy.

  piltdown man: Awful song, but a great pun.

LOL <Teyss> - hope OCF doesn't mind ....

The abysmal way she handled the opening, I guess he just assumed she'd be awful at endgames too. Turns out she was pretty good at those.

<Cassandro: Now that's a great pun.>

I'd expect nothing less from <OCF>. Sometimes we even get a good game too.

  Honza Cervenka: <HeMateMe: Kenny Rogers knows chess?>

Every gambler knows
That the secret to survivin'
Is knowin' what to throw away
And knowin' what to keep
'Cause every hand's a winner
And every hand's a loser
And the best that you can hope for is
to die in your sleep.

  OhioChessFan: Alas, it was too much to hope for an actual opening line named after Reuben Fine. But, it still works.
Apr-09-23  CCastillo: Kenny Rogers had the hit, but the version by Waylon Jennings off his 1977 album Ol' Waylon is better in every way.

  perfidious: In a delicious bit of irony, heard that song yesterday for the first time in many a moon.
