Oct-22-07  RookFile: It's probably not good when your opponent has passed c, d, <and> e pawns running down the board to queen.
Feb-19-09  laskereshevsky: Aye....

But Geller vs Smyslov, 1956

neither passed a,b,c, ♙♙ are easy to face..

GrahamClayton: This game was played in Round 5,and Hruby had already been defeated by Zukertort, Blackburne and Winawer, but he played well to defeat the current World Champion.
Apr-08-16  sneaky pete: After the obvious 38... Qxe4 there wouldn't be much left to play for.

Game date is May 15, not May 13 (correction submitted).

Steinitz probably did not like (or was not convinced by) 38...Qxe4 39.Qxc4. It is not easy to find out that after 39...h5 black keeps the advantage.
