Dec-03-07  Whitehat1963: Weekend puzzler after 41...Qe7.
Dec-31-07  Whitehat1963: That book was overdue and got Fined! Ha, ha, ha, ha!! I crack myself up!
Mar-03-11  wordfunph: Fine over Book, indeed a fine fine-book game worth a space in a fine book!
Mar-03-11  Nilsson: I have to comment this.
Eero Böök was a well known skandinavian chess player from Finland. ( and that includes famous Mosketears-player from the Warsaw Olympiad 1935, Gideon Stålberg, Gösta Stoltz, Erik Lundin and Gösta Danielsson.
As you can see here the letters å, ä and ö, has a strong importance of the Scandinavian language. A good example for your english-talking people, there is a good example with frooken Beskow. (I guess a relative to the famous author Elsa Beskow, she wrote "Tanterna Blå, Gul och Grön." In deutsch freulein, in Swedish fröken, in English, miss.( Yes there was a real miss.) English is the best language novadays for communication so far, but have a little respect for the small countries. /JN
Mar-03-11  Jim Bartle: Sorry, I don't see how having a little fun with a game between Fine and Book is showing a lack of respect for small countries. We're using the English meanings of "Fine" as well, aren't we?
Mar-03-11  Nilsson: Sorry, I have to correct my self.
of course it´s Ståhlberg. He was born in Surte, a couple of miles from Göteborg. He was "the glasblåsarens barn" You know blowing, to make a glass. /JN
Ps. He was (what´s the name of domare in english is it judge? In World championchip match between Petrosian- Botvinnik I think; ) well he was a well respected GM (awhere of that, the hole world knew, that hi was an alcoholic person)He died in Leningrad, 1967. (Now S:t Petersburg.) in a deadly heartattack .Ds.
Mar-03-11  haydn20: Questions from a low level. Why did Black never contest the b-file? Is Black trying to offer a draw around 21-26? Is 41...Qe7(?) a move right after a time control? If so, it seems a particuarly bad one. Hope someone answers this.
May-25-17  morfishine: "Fine for overdue book"

*****

May-27-17  ColeTrane: <morfishine> if these are your best ideas for your own puns, then you are self disillusioned and should really shut it....
May-27-17  zanzibar: I'm so confused!

I thought <morfishine> hated puns.

Perhaps this is a bit of Post-Modern Ironic (PMI) posing on his part.
