An Englishman: Good Evening: Dang--Euwe was literally decades ahead of his time in this game. He makes it look easy here: gain the two Bishops, neutralize the ...b5 counterattack, seize the c-file, seize c6, make the Black Bishop irrelevant, swap Queens and push that Queen side pawn majority. Easy.

Yes, this is a <MODEL GAME> for playing the White side of this <SYMMETICAL ENGLISH> variation.

May-23-14  dehanne: Best Dutch player of all time crushes the best Belgian player of all time.
Mar-29-15  cunctatorg: Well, I doubt that Dr. Max Euwe was the best Dutch player of all time; imho Jan Timman is the other candidate for that title ... though this question may be unimportant in the end of the day!

perfidious: While Timman enjoyed a long career at top level, Euwe won the title and was no slouch even after the formidable Alekhine regained it.
