Jan-18-05  Mating Net: Does anybody know if these 2 teenage sensations have played each other other than this one game in the database? Could this modest affair, if it is their first meeting, be the beginning of a long lasting chess rivalry? Perhaps Moonlitknight can shed some "light" on this.
Jan-19-05  iron maiden: <Mating Net> Carlsen only really began the international circuit last year, so this is indeed their first meeting.
Jan-19-05  Mating Net: Thanks for the update <iron maiden> I have a feeling we'll be seeing these two go mano a mano for many years to come. It'll be interesting to see if Ramirez can finish in the top half of this tough, tough group.

I'm looking forward to more encounters between these two. When could they possibly meet again?

Dec-15-14  pixel pusher: The link is a pic of these two taken during the first few moves: a seemingly uninterested Magnus and a "whatcha think about that move?" glare from Ramirez! You will have too scroll down a bit to see the photo.

<Pedro.Akcio: <Mating Net> They won't>

As I noted some days ago:

<<offramp....Alejandro Ramirez seems to be the King Of The World, telling MVL or Caruana that they are heaps of garbage and failing to miss wins 240 moves deep.>

Easy to do from his exalted vantage point of 2570 or thereabouts, when the only way he gets near these players in normal circumstances is as you and I--buying a ticket.>
