Mar-12-22 | | Z truth 000000001: <Williebob> what about the needless, and quite erroneous political swiping at Biden? Misdirected political outrage, and outright falsehoodss, utilizing the Ukrainian situation as an excuse to propagate his right-wing propaganda. |
|
Mar-12-22 | | Z truth 000000001: Fred's polluting the forum will continue as long as he can't get the last word in. The hypocrisy is that he often loudly proclaims his outrage at anyone else who dares contaminate the site with non-chess content. All the while he continues to spout his own brand of toxic political diatribe in inappropriate forums. Basically every place else than <Rogoff>. But for those who don't care - please note that there is er, "selective" outrage on <CG> for when the "hammer" comes out. . |
|
Mar-12-22
 | | Williebob: <Z>, Unless you are prepared to explain to me the hows and the whys of this war, I will not accept such a bygone conclusion of another's "quite erroneous" statements. Do we live in transparent world where global politics contains no dirty secrets? Do we have all the information we need to simply say, Putin bad, World good? (I would only agree with the first half.) Anyway there might be millions of people who believe what <FTB> believes, and I think it best to contend with these ideas with an open heart and mind since there is no proof that "they" are out to murder you in any case. They want peace in Ukraine too!
Karjakin's non-chess Tweets have, at this juncture, carved an exception to CG policy. The censure of him and Russians in general is a vital topic - i.e. freedom of speech and the expected social costs of exercising your freedom - and not easy to resolve unless one simply thinks that people ought to suffer for their leaders' mistakes in all circumstances.
The ongoing Rogoff war is far less excusable. |
|
Mar-12-22 | | Z truth 000000001: OK <Williebob>, please explain to me why Zelinksky isn't complaining at all about <Joek Biden's weakness, his perpetual lies, his reliance on Russian oil while shutting down American oil, Obama's negligence, the broken Clinton pledge to protect Ukraine,> (all of which is political fiction spun by right-wing media and parroted by Fred) whereas I do hear him complain about
<Vladimir Putin's campaign of disinformation and war crimes, > We have <Rogoff> for these types of discussions if you care to carry on there. That's really my point. Which is why this statement:
<The ongoing Rogoff war is far less excusable.> seems confusing (what war? Right vs Left?), and not quite constructive. FWIW - Biden/Obama/Clinton has 0 to do with Karjakin's tweets, so why did we even go down that rabbithole? Oh yeah - because a fuzzy bear went there. Again, my main point. |
|
Mar-12-22
 | | Williebob: <Z> My last statement was poorly phrased. I don't like Rogoff's page being used as a permanent umbrella for political debate. There should be a non-player forum for political rantings.
Your main point is fine, mostly because we've instantly reached loggerheads rather than debate here. However, as FTB suggested, naming this game "Justice for Ukraine" was guaranteed to kick start the jingoistic pile-on. |
|
Mar-12-22 | | HumSundwuch: Hey <fredthebear> gun ownership is a scam. The only winners here are the NRA & sellers of guns. If you have a beef against either the government or large corporations, gun ownership will get you nowhere.
You think by brandishing your piddly pistol you can take on a government armed to the teeth or take on private entities with private militias and unlimited resources & advanced weaponry?
All gun owners end up doing is killing their neighbors, people like them/the average American. Their problems remain just the same, before and after any altercation involving guns. |
|
Mar-12-22 | | Z truth 000000001: <There should be a non-player forum for political rantings.> Agree
<...naming this game "Justice for Ukraine" was guaranteed to kick start the jingoistic pile-on.> Agree.
Bad <Missy>, bad, bad, bad. |
|
Mar-12-22
 | | MissScarlett: I didn't name it, I just chose it. |
|
Mar-12-22 | | HumSundwuch: Gun ownership hasnt helped the radical conservative resolve any issues they had been vocal about - taxes, jobs, immigration, abortion, LGBTQ in most states. They will simply be squashed by a vastly superior military force that is in control of their lives and global affairs/world order. |

 | | OhioChessFan: Alternate pun idea:
"Has the Invasion Started Yet?" |
|
Mar-12-22
 | | MissScarlett: I think it's fair to say that my analysis proved as correct and perceptive as ever, except for a couple of minor points. |
|
Mar-13-22 | | Z truth 000000001: And yet we haven't seen hide nor (bad) hair of you over at <Rogoff> for a bad bit. |
|
Mar-13-22
 | | perfidious: <Williebob.... as FTB suggested, naming this game "Justice for Ukraine" was guaranteed to kick start the jingoistic pile-on.> Regrettably, this has proven only too true. |

Mar-14-22 | | ChessPlayerJeshan: <JohnBoy> hi |

Mar-14-22
 | | fredthebear: It's interesting that a "newbie" found this page and chose to say hi to JB on his first day here. That's quite a coincidence, like a 10,000-to-1 chance of happening legitimately. Here are real people under attack:
* https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world... * https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/17856... * https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/06/euro... * https://edition.cnn.com/europe/live... The inviting post on Mar-12-22 Premium Chessgames Member Clement Fraud had no chess responders. So much for <You continue to despoil this thread, burying any discussion of the game or its title under mounds of blather.> The spoilers on this page don't care about chess or Ukraine. They just enjoy attacking other people. The spoilers think they have the right to squelch freedom of expression; it's what they do every day. Pfft. |
|
Mar-14-22
 | | fredthebear: Your post was noticed <sakredkow>: Here's all the 12...d5 pawn breaks from the same position in the database: https://www.chessgames.com/perl/che... The game is more or less even at this point. |
|
Mar-21-22 | | JohnBoy: Thanks <Z>. And, yes, <Williebob>, I arrogated the right to speak for others. Nevertheless, would it not be nice if this site had a forum for the street preacher to set up their soap box and hold forth. Go all 1990s Times Square. OR, o, go off on their own private psychotic episode. See what I did there?
<AJ> was a master at engaging in shouting matches. But my impression was that he was a low-level master trying to drum up some action for his side-gig as a coach. <fred> is just a boor. |
|
Mar-22-22
 | | fredthebear: Back from your suspension <JB>? You're too stupid to know that you stuck your foot in your big mouth <JB>. You were caught dealing from the bottom of the deck as <ChessPlayerJeshan>. You have yet to comment about this chess game as you cried so boo-hoo about. It's not the game that matters -- you just want to moan and groan about something because that's who you are. You're the very sort of vermin this website should eliminate <JB>. Meanwhile, the Russian army continues committing mass murder, genocide, war crimes, and nation stealing in Ukraine. * https://www.cnn.com/interactive/202... * https://www.irishtimes.com/news/wor... |

Mar-24-22 | | JohnBoy: <boor> - is <Jeshan> an alter-ego of yours? Would not surprise me. You are a friggin waste. Preach to someone who gives a $h!+. |
