Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-01-18  fispok: An epaulette mate where the king can't reach either of his rooks in time.
May-13-21  Walter Glattke: 26.-Rxe2+ 27.Kxe2 Bd3+ A) 28.Kf2 Qd2+29.Kg3 Rg8+ 30.Kh3 Bf5+ 31.Rg4 Bxg4+ 32.fxg4 Qxc1 1 rook ahead B) 28. Kd1 Qxa4+29.Ke1 Qa2 30.Qxd3 cxd3 31.Rxc8+ Kh7 32.a) Rg2 Qxg2 b) Rcg8 Qe2# c) Kf1 Qe2# so 32.Kd1 Qe2+ 33.Kc1 d2+ 34.Kb1 d1Q+ 35.Rxd1 Qxd1+ queen for rook
May-13-21  Messiah: Terrible!
May-13-21  drollere: the root is 26...Rxe2+, 27. Kxe2 Bd3+, and the white K is assaulted in different ways depending on whether the reply is Kd1, Kf2 or Qxd3.

e.g., if 28. Kf2 Qd2+, 29. Kg3 Rg8+, 30. Kh3 (if Kf4 mate in 2) Bf5+, 31. Rg4 Qxc1 and more pain shortly.

if 28. Kd1 Qxa4+, 29. Ke1 Qa2, 30. Qxd3 cxd3, 31. Rc8+ Kh7, and both Rs can be eaten before dessert.

May-13-21  Brenin: The first few moves, 26 ... Rxe2+ 27 Kxe2 (otherwise White is B+P down and the attack continues) Bd3+ (cutting White's Q off from defending the K) are easy to see. One simply needs to verify that the White K has no route to safety.
May-13-21  Cheapo by the Dozen: I blew this for a dumb reason: I overlooked that ... cxd3 was check.
May-13-21  stacase: Pretty darn easy for a Thursday puzzle.

The Rook for a Bishop sacrifice set up the very strong Bishop Pawn mutual admiration society and a lot of obvious checks and the final don't say check 29...Qb4+ but rather 29...Qa2 threatening mate (my favorite move cuz ya doesn't has tuh say nuttin.), and White has no defense that works.

May-13-21  mel gibson: I saw the text move but I wasn't sure if it would win.

Stockfish 13 says mate in 25:

26... Rxe2+

May-13-21  agb2002: Black has an extra pawn.

White threatens Qxb2.

Black can attack the white king starting with 26... Rxe2+ 27.Kxe2 Bd3+:

A) 28.Kd1 Qxa4+ (28... Rd8 29.Qc3 seems to resist a bit more)

A.1) 29.Ke1 Qa2 30.Qxd3 cxd3 31.Rxc8+ Kh7 32.Rcg8 Qe2#.

A.2) 29.Kd2 Qa2+ 30.Kc3 Qa5+ 31.Kb2 Qb4+ 32.Ka2 (32.Ka1 Qa3#) 32... Qb3+ 33.Ka1 Qa3#.

B) 28.Kf2 Qd2+ 29.Kg3 Rg8+

B.1) 30.Kh3 Bf4+ 31.Rg4 (31.Kh4 Qh2#) 31... Bxg4+ 32.fxg4 Qxc1 wins a rook.

B.2) 30.Kf4 Qh2+ 31.Rg3 Qxg3#.

C) 28.Qxd3 cxd3+ wins.

May-13-21  Oxspawn: I liked this puzzle. Didn't get it all but thought if was brilliant play by black. I liked most of the puzzles this week. Does this mean I am expelled from the club?

May-13-21  shamijacobus: 28 Q a2...Q X B ===> ? black win
May-13-21  johnnydeep: I chose the immediate pawn push over taking the bishop and thus failed to solve this one. Oh well.

i'm curious to know why or how the chessgames.com stated policies are or are not being enforced.

Yes - I also have both of those twits ignored.
