  Stonehenge: Leysens to Kill.

White should have tried 19.Qxb7.

Stonehenge: OK, I've submitted the pun but only because you said so :)

I'm not very good at these puns and judging if the game quality is good enough.

Perhaps my best pun was M L Nicholson vs E Saglione, 2008

An Englishman: Good Evening: So *that's* how to pronounce Leysens. Thanks!

The move e2-e3 seems to run into trouble in this variation of the Budapest--see Rubinstein vs Vidmar, 1918 for another example.

Jun-20-23  Jamboree: After 15. ... Ng3, white should have tried 16. hxg3!!? Bxc2 17. Rxc2, in which white has two Bs + one P vs a Q. Normally this would favor the queen, but in this position the two bishops can just post themselves in the center of the board and dominate the position, making it nearly impossible for black to ever break through. A possible continuation might be 17. ... O-O-O 18. Bd3 Rde8+ 19. Be3 g6 20. O-O, and white's position looks as solid as a rock, despite being material down.

I much prefer this line to the game line where white is just down an exchange and a pawn with no hope.

Quite right. I had a look at it and I was surprised at how effective that move would have been. Here's a couple of examples:

19...Rc8 20.Bg5+ Kd7 21.Qb5+ soon mates.

19...Kd7 20.Qb5+ Kc8 21.Qf5+ Kd8 22.Bg5+ is just as quick.

Jun-20-23  Messiah: Very weak pun.
