MissScarlett: The text of this game from the <Manchester Evening News>, via the <BNA>, is smudged in parts. But I'm confident this reconstruction is accurate.

offramp: This game has 5 kibitzes. Four of them are attempts to give this game a title.
Jul-20-25  Garech: Are we sure this is a legit game? Doesn't feel like Capablanca at all, what the hell happened?

An Englishman: Good Evening: Given that 30 players competed in this simul, it makes sense that even Capablanca might have a single bad game among them. Nice pun on "knowledge."
Jul-20-25  goodevans: Well played Mr Edge ('Wedgie' to his friends?). You have to play pretty well to beat Capa even when he's having an off moment in the middle of a 30 board simul..

It seems both players missed <13.Bxc4! dxc4 14.Qf3> but apart from that nothing sticks out for me until the horrible <20.b3?>. I can't quite get my head around JRC playing that even in a simul.. His las few moves, <31.f5> onwards, were also a bit iffy but he was pretty much lost by then anyway.

As for all the pun attempts, some are quite good but IMHO the best of them was chosen. So well done <Lossmaster> too.

Jul-20-25  VerySeriousExpert: Dear chess players, let me congratulate you warmly with the International Chess Day! This game by maestro Capablanca is enough strange. Is 2.e3 an intentional step to the draw here?
