Jun-23-04  cousinIT: Well done Krasenkow!!!!! Knocking a player of Short's caliber out of the World championship is something Kadhi, Hameed Mansour Ali and maybe some others could not achieve.....You are indeed a champ!!
Jun-24-04  hollowone: To be fair, Short blundered his way out of the tournament. You can't take full credit for your opponent's mistakes.

  Gypsy: To be fair, Krasenkow played resourceful, tough chess and held two difficult positions well. And he also got lucky in the first game.
Jun-24-04  PinkPanther: <cousinIT>
You've gotta be kidding me.....
Jun-24-04  acirce: <Short blundered his way out of the tournament> Sure, but he had no more than a draw when he blundered the rook in the first game, and he got no more than a draw in the second game.
Sep-20-04  acirce: Krasenkow's preliminary Oct 1 rating is 2676 which is not bad for someone rated only 2609 on the April list. Current rating 2632. He has really scored tremendously well the latest two periods:

http://www.fide.com/ratings/tourney... http://www.fide.com/ratings/tourarc...

Someone to watch out for.

Sep-23-04  dafish298: yea he has an expected of +43.7!! that is unheard of..he jumps all the way into the top 30 just about now
Sep-23-04  clocked: <dafish298> well don't forget Morozevich when he was rated 2625. He went up 98!! points in the second half of 1998.
Sep-24-04  acirce: Nisipeanu gained 60 points between Apr03 and Jul03 (2606->2666)
Jul-03-05  notyetagm: Wow, a 60-point increase in one quarter! Is that a record for someone rated over 2600?
Jul-03-05  notyetagm: Krasenkow is the master of the <h3 system against the King's Indian>. Just click the link http://www.chessgames.com/perl/ches... and see for yourself. Larsen was a leading proponent of this line in the previous generation.
Jul-18-05  notyetagm: <chessgames.com>, here are two nice victories by Krasenkow that are not in your database. In both games, Krasenkow uses his pet h3 system against the KID to defeat world-class players, Shirov and Sutovsky.

  Troller: Yeah, he has always been inconsistent. He also reached the elite rather late in his career.

Curently, he is rated 2660 and has 5/5 in Politiken Cup: http://www.politikencup.dk/

Playing Sargissian with black later today.

Mar-28-08  sonia91: He won the Scandinavian Rapid Open in Stockholm. Congratulations!
