Faleccu ontem em Niteroi o Sr Washington de Oliveira, presidente da Confederacao Brasileira de Xadrez (CBX), Eleito para o cargo no inicio deste ano, Washington de Oliveira, vitimado por um colapso cardiaco aos 58 anos, era um dos grandes entusiastas do xadrez brasileiro e foi o organizador do Torneio Interzonal de Petropolis disputado em 1973. Deixa mulher e filha, e sera enterrado as 12 horas de hoje no Cemiterio do Marui, en Niteroi.>

"Died yesterday in Niteroi, Mr Washington de Oliveira, president of the Brazilian Confederation of Chess (CBX), elected to the position earlier this year. Washington Oliveira, victim of a heart failure at age 58, was one of the great Brazilian chess enthusiasts and was the organizer of the Petropolis Interzonal Tournament held in 1973. He leaves a wife and daughter, and will be buried 12 hours today at the cemetery of Marui, in Niteroi."
