Apr-25-12  Yopo: Four Jeremiah F Donovan appears in this list . Which of them played chess?

Phony Benoni: <Yupo> If he is any of those, it's probably the one born in 1921. Hermann Helms, in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle of 1940, indicates that he was a student at Brooklyn College, with fits best with that date.

The Social Security Number was issued in Rhode Island, not Donovan's hoome state of New York. While is that is closer than the other Jeremiah F Donovans, it's enough to make me hesitate before identifying them complerely.

Dec-07-14  SBC: Herbert Seidman was also a student at Brooklyn College, capt. of their winning chess team, graduating in 1942.
