Kibitzer's Corner
May-25-25  FM David H. Levin: According to <olimpbase.org>, this player is Curtis McDaniels of the team abbreviated as BER (which I take to be Bermuda).

  OhioChessFan: FIDE says "McDaniel".

Stonehenge: They also say born 1950. Di Felice has McDaniels, born 1937.

jnpope: The Bermuda <Royal Gazette> consistently gives "Curtis McDaniels" in it's chess coverage.
May-25-25  stone free or die: What happened to the link to his FIDE card?

jnpope: Nothing happened to it as there was never one to begin with (according to the bio edit history).
May-25-25  stone free or die: Ah, thanks. So is <OCF>'s FIDE link to a different play with a near-beer name?

jnpope: I believe OCFs link is to the same player.

If someone added his FIDE ID number to his CG bio form field then he'll probably get a CG generated link to the same FIDE page.

May-25-25  stone free or die: Another clear case where FIDE info is wrong and needs a "correction slip" then?

jnpope: Only if you care about FIDE's data being correct.
May-25-25  stone free or die: Implying you don't?!?

jnpope: Nope. Their crap is not my problem.
May-25-25  stone free or die: Excepting they're the source for virtually all player data in the modern era, yeah, who gives a hoot!

perfidious: Looking at McDaniels' image, I give more credence to 1950 as the YOB than 1937.

  jnpope: <modern era>

Again, not my corner of the store. So my statement stands. :-p

jnpope: <perf>, I agree. There is another photo showing a side view of him playing OTB (but he could have just been a youthful looking 39 year old in 1976).
