Aug-08-05  rexeterna: I read somewhere that Arsovic played a match against Predrag Nikolic in 1989 that was on record as the longest chess game ever, with 269 moves, but I can't find it in his game database or Nikolic's. Anyone know where it is/if it is indeed the record/if not, what currently holds the title?
Aug-08-05  Montreal1666: <rexeterna> The first name is different:

I Nikolic vs G Arsovic, 1980

Phony Benoni: You'd sort of think so, both being born November 8, 1967. After all, there seem to be few great players born on that particular day, modesty forbidding me from mentioning another.

It is interesting that they are now listed as being from different countries (Zoran from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Goran from Serbia/Montenegro).
