Sep-05-03  sleepkid: ...any reason for mentioning his name? (or the others. . .)

chessgames.com: Honza is just helping us supply first names of some players in the database. This page read "P Votruba" before I fixed it.

I sometimes delete Honza's comments once I fix the page, just to avoid confusion. I'll try to do that more.

Sep-05-03  sleepkid: ...ahhh, would it help if I scanned/saved and uploaded pictures of chess players? There are quite a few that you should have pictures of, but don't. . .

this is a great site by the way. . .

chessgames.com: Sleepkid: if you took the photos yourself that would be most excellent. But you can't just scan magazine photos; there are copyright issues involved.

However, photos taken before 1928 (i.e. 75 years old) are copyright free.

Sep-06-03  sleepkid: ...got it.

...by the way, what happened to the comments on Miagmarsuren. . . hey, actually, what happened to Miagmarsuren? Oh. Spelling of his name changed. . .I see. . .

IM Pavel Votruba (born 1948) from the Czech Republic.

By the way a respected International FIDE Arbiter, e.g. Chorus 2009

Mar-20-10  Eastfrisian: Born in 1948 he couldn't have played already in 1921.

'Votruba' sounds like a time travel capable species name from Star Trek, so I'd be more cautious saying that that blindfold simul was impossible.
