Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-05-13  epistle: Joose can you see, by the dawn's early light?
Aug-06-13  SugarDom: Hi <epistle>. He's full name is Joose Capablanca Norri, cousin of Alekhine Norri.
Aug-07-13  epistle: You forgot the "R." for Raulo. His fully complete exhaustive name with patronymic, as pronounced, is Joo-seraulo-capablanca- norri.
Nov-14-23  Ilkka Salonen: Well, it comes to my mind that perhaps, as I have actually spoken to the person I should state something and perhaps I should not. Finnish players don't seem to go to foreign tournaments a lot. What is the reason for this? It takes money to participate in chess tournaments and perhaps also finnish players could face scorn and harassment. Finnish state is a peculiar thing, with so many regulations but then failing to protect people from noise or idling cars. Finnish men have been punched maybe more than norwegians on average, an impairment to chess results, I guess. Finlandizierung was a concept developed by german press sometime during Cold war. KGB were into all kinds of creepy stuff and I have had these visions of Paasikivi, originally Stenvall or something telling Stalin that the people who scare him too now plan to make Finland a place from which prostitutes are created by force. So Finland used to be better than Norway in chess, but finnish militarism, corruption, foreign influence and women's libs used by these has created a war on finnish culture by Finland, I mean the state. So Norri is a respected member of the Helsinki bar scene. Not somebody who would nick a beer or something. A nice guy.
Jan-01-25  Olavi: I'll mention now, as the more unpleasant commentators seem largely to have departed the site, that this is me.
