Aug-19-04  fgh: Cool winning percentage
Apr-15-05  MrMrsKnight: I met him recently at a tournament in Brazil, he's a nice guy and still plays all the time. He has a lot of great stories to tell.
Mar-04-10  MrMrsKnight: I guess he is a citizen of Brazil but I'm 99 percent sure that he's actually from Argentina.
Mar-31-10  wordfunph: <fgh: Cool winning percentage>

i immediately ran on top of this page and smiled...after seeing his "cool" winning percentage.

happy birthday Jose Luis!

Jun-05-14  zanzibar: In MillBase he has a better record:

1965-1995 55 games

+12 -26 =17 (37.3%)

Now, where is the ref for his birthday? FIDE doesn't even list the year.

I believe his picture is here (middle):

perfidious: <zanzibar> The first sentence of your post reminds me of Hebert Perez Garcia in reverse; a massive plus in games posted here, but cold reality at 365chess gives a different flavour: many of the games submitted to CG are evidently cherry-picked.
Jun-05-14  zanzibar: <perfidious> thanks for that comment. I added a feature in my big software package to look up players on 365chess.com.

I just didn't think to do that before!

Now I can sit at the command line and get stats from FIDE/CG/OlimpBase/365chess all in one go, in order to compare and contrast.

The last step would be to grab MillBase (or MegaBase) data out.

Here's Agdamus' info from 365:

Name: Jose Luis Agdamus
Federation: BRAZIL
Title:
ELO: 2276
Years: 1965 - 2003
Wins: 37 (28.46 %)
Draws: 43 (33.08 %)
Losses: 50 (38.46 %)
Score: 45 %

Here's another nice photo of the guy:

Looks a lot happier than a player who only scores 15% (actually, given rating placement adjustments, shouldn't everyone be fairly close to 50% if a proper representation of their rating is made?)
